Made Simple Group called upon C2S to help them with a Call Center setup to handle around 50 incoming lines. Working to a very tight timeframe, we were able to get them up and running quickly, and help with additional features and functionality to make their life easier taking calls.
Requiring a reliable VoIP system that would tie in with their software package Accredo, as well as a need for a multi-tenant system with ISDN inbound / fallback, Innovative IT turned to C2S for the CrystalVoice IP-300 PBX system. After a transparent switch-over, we ran into issues with calls dropping sparodically. It turns out this was related to the upstream package Asterisk. Innovative were very understanding as we worked tirelessly to resolve the issue, and have put such measures in place to prevent that and similar issues in all our systems.
We are also developing custom billing for Innovative IT that will tie in with both their VoIP and ISDN lines.
A blog article on DIY FreeSWITCH & FreePBXv3 from LiveCD recently published by Josiah Spackman of C2S has been mentioned on the FreeSWITCH homepage.
This is a great introduction to getting FreeSWITCH & FreePBXv3 up and running from a LiveCD, without having to wipe a HDD to trial it out.
Stay tuned for a follow-up article that brings you a "quickstart" on FreePBXv3 and using it with FreeSWITCH!
An interesting article has been posted on the pitfalls of doing a "cheap" VoIP setup in-house.
VoIP can be a very cost-effective telecommunication method, but done poorly can be an endless money-pit. If you've only been "doing VoIP" for a year, you're still a relative newbie, and for a corporate environment that demands stability (as any business does), it's not worth risking for the potential saving of a couple of thousand dollars on setup costs you *may* save compared with hiring an experienced company to manage and maintain the entire solution.
